The <<2023 AHA Cost of Caring report>> finds overall hospital expenses have increased by 17.5% between 2019 and 2022, outpacing Medicare reimbursement, which only increased 7.5%. Steadily increasing costs of providing healthcare coupled with decreased and inadequate reimbursement rates, increased regulation and the inability of many to pay their bills have left hospitals both large and small looking for ways to survive, which is why affiliation is vital to the future of AAMC and our long-term commitment to providing accessible, personalized, high-quality care to the community.
AAMC is committed to providing quality compassionate care, right here in Abbeville. According to the new AHA Cost of Caring Report, <<Massive Growth in Expenses and Rising Inflation>> have fueled continued financial challenges for America’s Hospitals and Health Systems. Costs for labor, supplies and drugs have increased. Workforce shortages continue. Sicker patients with longer hospital stays are more prevalent. These and other factors contributed to 2022 being the most financially challenging year since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. These findings further supports our decision to pursue affiliation with Self Regional Healthcare.
The American Hospital Association (AHA) recently released a <<statement to the US Senate Finance Committee>> that provides the hospital perspective on how affiliations can expand and preserve access to quality, affordable care. This information further supports our decision to pursue affiliation with Self Regional Healthcare.
