The Abbeville Area Medical Center (AAMC) Foundation has announced it is hosting a photography contest to replace the current artwork located in the main hospital.
“The Foundation Board is very excited to fund replacement of the artwork inside the AAMC hospital facility with curated photographs submitted by area photographers,” stated Connie Scott, AAMC Foundation Board member and Artwork Replacement Committee Chair. “The current artwork has not been replaced since the hospital’s opening in 2006.”
The goal of the contest is to refresh and modernize the hospital’s visual environment with photographs of Abbeville County’s landmarks and natural beauty. Photographs will be placed in patient rooms, public corridors, waiting areas and other patient care areas.
There is no cost to enter, and selected photographs will be featured in the hospital facility with a personalized recognition plaque. At least 40 photographs will be selected. Deadline to submit photographs is March 16th.
“The Foundation is proud to support our hospital with this important project that will enhance the environment in which our community receives care,” stated Board Chair, Franca Davis Rucker. “We believe that healing begins the moment a patient walks through our doors. By investing in this art replacement project, we are transforming our environment into a warm, comforting space.”
