A Medical Social Worker helps with emotional to social support and also aids patients with access to other resources and assistance. Medical social workers collaborate with patients and their families to enable them to overcome their psychosocial problems including issues pertaining to their illness and/or hospitalization. Their ultimate goal is to enable a speedy recovery besides facilitating an optimal utilization of residual resources and rehabilitation.
