Position Title: IT Support Technician

Position Description: Will be responsible for providing end-user, information technology support, which primarily involves troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems, researching and implementing solutions to technology problems, setting up new computers and training staff in appropriate use of technology resources.

The above wage range reflects the minimum, midpoint and maximum hourly rate for this position. New employees are hired between the minimum and midpoint of this range. The initial wage offered will be based on qualifications and experience.
    Qualifications:
    Education:Associate Degree in a related field required.
    Experience:One year experience in computer networking and/or help desk support is required. Working Knowledge of MS Office ( Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), excellent trouble shooting skills, ability to install/upgrade, test, configure, troubleshoot and repair desktop operating systems, including Windows XP and Windows 7 are required. IT certificate or a degree in a technical field (A+, Helpdesk Institute, Networking, PC Hardware, etc) is preferred. Experience in a health care environment, router/firewall configuration experience and experience with MS Access databases are preferred.
    Physical Requirements:The IT Support Technician must have the ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50#'s occasionally and will routinely lift, push, pull and carry items weighing up to 25#'s. The IT Support Technician must have the ability to be mobile throughout the hospital and other off-site locations and crawl, bend, reach overhead, kneel, and twist in order to service and install IT equipment in tight quarters, under desks and in other hard to enter place. Ability to exercise self-control and maintain calm when dealing with difficult or angry customers; must be able to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation, and foot traffic; ability to handle interruptions often and be able to move from one task to another; must be flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinions. External applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions, either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis.
    License Required:Must have a valid SC driver's license, and the ability to service off-site and satellite locations on a regular basis.
