Position Title: Cook-PRN

Department:Dietary
Position Description: Provides quality food preparation, meal and customer service to patients, staff and visitors. Follows standard practices and procedures in compliance with regulatory agency requirements and department policies. Responsible for general management responsibilities in the department.

The above wage range reflects the minimum, midpoint and maximum hourly rate for this position. New employees are hired between the minimum and midpoint of this range. The initial wage offered will be based on qualifications and experience.

    Qualifications:
    Education:High school graduate or GED required.
    Experience:Food service experience, especially in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility is preferred, but not required. Must be able to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations while assuring quality food service is provided at all times. Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and follow oral/written instructions.
    Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift 25 pounds routinely and occasionally lift 50 pounds to put up groceries. The employee must be able to push and pull 50 pounds routinely in the delivery of patient meals and food products. Employees must be able to tolerate standing for extended periods of time on hard floor surfaces. External applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions, either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis.
