The American Nurses Association (1980) has defined nursing as "the diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health problems."
Nursing has three primary objectives:
- Health promotion
- Disease prevention
- Cure of disease and restoration of health
Skilled nursing also includes:
- Pediatrics
- Oncology
- Diabetes
- Congestive Heart Failure
- Joint Rehabilitation
They assess and diagnose the needs of our patients and help them through various methods. Some of these methods include medication set up and reminders, checking vital signs, answering questions about patient care and communicating with physicians and hospitals.
