Construction continues on the new Abbeville County Memorial Hospital! On schedule for completion in September 2006, the new 67,000 square foot facility is designed to provide easy accessibility for both out-patient services and in-patient stays.
The new hospital is designed with two areas connected by an enclosed hallway. The main building contains the diagnostic and clinical departments. Major support departments, Administrative Services, Fiscal Services, Quality Control and Human Resources will be housed in a second wing.
The facility will have sixteen in-patient beds for medical surgical patients, three for labor/delivery/post partum (LDRP) patients and six Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds.
The Emergency Department will have seven rooms as well as two observation beds and is located for convenient access.
Our Surgery Department contains two state-of-the-art surgical suites along with five recovery and eight pre-operative beds all in one area. The entire area is designed to provide functional, flexibile pre-operative and post-operative care.
The Laboratory and Radiology Departments are also more spacious and better designed to help provide even better more convenient care.
Areas designed especially for Sleep Study, Neuro-Diagnostics, In-Patient Physical Therapy and Stress Testing are contained in the main building. A gift shop is also in the planning stages! | |   |
