Abbeville Area Medical Center is pleased to announce the hospital is expanding its medical staff with the addition of a board-certified Family Practitioner. Steve Adams, MD has joined the hospital’s Family Medicine Associates practice and is currently welcoming new patients.

Dr. Adams’ practice is focused on caring for his patients both physically and spiritually. He also has a special interest in children’s health and pediatric care.
Dr. Adams completed his internship and residency in Family Practice at Anderson Area Medical Center (AnMed) in Anderson. Prior to joining Abbeville Area Medical Center, Dr. Adams was in private practice in Chesapeake, Virginia. He also served as staff physician at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana, Assistant Director of King’s Daughter’s Hospice and as Medical Director at Thornton Terrace in Hanover, Indiana. Dr. Adams earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio where he also received his medical degree. He earned his board certification in 1999 and in 2005.
Dr. Adams is married to his high school sweetheart, Amanda. Together, they have nine children, Olivia, Isaiah, Emma, Audrey, Clara, Gabriel, Ella, Sophia and Levi. He has been actively involved in churches in Anderson, Madison and Chesapeake, and has served as both an Elder and Worship Leader.
