Abbeville Area Medical Center welcomes nurse practitioner Donna Taylor, CNM, MSN, to Abbeville Internal Medicine

Taylor, a certified nurse midwife, will be working alongside Evangeline Gonzalez, M.D., and newly recruited physician Pinky Bora-Saikia, M.B.B.S., M.D. Taylor says she believes her unique skills will improve the quality of care at the practice, especially for women.

“I have always loved taking care of women of all ages,” says Taylor. “I’ll be helping to provide all sorts of women’s services that span from teen care to menopause, providing preventive women’s healthcare services and helping to empower women in the community.”

Taylor, a 1991 graduate of the University of South Carolina, has plenty of experience taking care of women. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Lexington Medical Center for 10 years before moving to Charleston to earn her master’s degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, a degree she completed in 2001 with a special certification in midwifery.

“Of course, in my role as a nurse practitioner I will be seeing a variety of patients and I am looking forward to that role,” says Taylor. “However, I feel I will be able to pay special attention to the needs of women and their families.”
