Abbeville Area Medical Center Launches New Ladies Night Out Health Series
Urologist Michael D. Turner MD to Talk about Causes and
Treatment Options for Stress Urinary Incontinence
(Abbeville SC) July 6, 2011 -- Abbeville Area Medical Center is pleased to announce the start of a series designed to provide free medical information to women on health and wellness issues. AAMC’s LADIES NIGHT OUT series will feature a different physician or clinician speaking about a variety of health-related topics specifically tailored for women in a fun, relaxing environment.
The series will kick off at 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 21 with Dr. Michael Turner of Abbeville Urology, who will talk about the causes of and treatment options for stress urinary incontinence, a common condition affecting women. Dr. Turner is a board-certified urologist with an office at 901 W. Greenwood St., Suite 8-A in Abbeville. He earned his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his Residency at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Turner has been in private practice since 1981.
“I see so many women who suffer in silence from stress urinary incontinence,” said Dr. Turner. “Because they are too embarrassed to discuss the problem, they are often unaware of the many treatment options available to them. I look forward to sharing some of the latest surgical and non-surgical techniques used in the successful treatment of this condition.”
The Ladies Night Out program series will be held on a monthly basis in AAMC’s Administrative Wing Education Room located at 420 Thomson Circle in Abbeville. The program is free however pre-registration is requested. Attendees will enjoy coffee and dessert and are eligible for a prize drawing at the end of the program.
